A professional captain and instructor for more than 45 years, with a zero-loss safety and claims record across two decades of high-performance event command.
Carl has been a professional captain and instructor for more than 45 years. For twenty years he founded and led Performance Boat Club Events (PBCE): about 120 high-performance boating events, typically 20–25 boats per event, all run under his on-water command with a zero-loss safety and claims record.
He has trained hundreds of private clients one-on-one. He has commanded vessels up to 110 ft, runs triple- and quad-outboard offshore performance boats, and built, campaigned and throttled the 150+ mph Talon Comp 37 offshore racing catamaran. His background in high-performance design, rigging and setup means he understands the boat as well as the driving.
His home waters are Georgian Bay (30+ years), the Great Lakes, the Muskoka, Kawartha and Simcoe lakes, the Ottawa River and the US Gulf Coast.
